I have coached rugby for the past 16 years, dedicating the last 5 years to girls rugby. The exposure the women’s game gets is improving but still a long way off the men’s game.

Rugby is not just about the physical game on the field but brings life skills to so many young people, skills that future employers will benefit from.

3 years ago, I had a parent tell me that their child’s best friend tried to commit suicide and if it wasn’t for rugby, she believes that it would have been her child. There was no more reasons needed to why sport is such a great outlet for children today.

We are taking around 79 players on tour this year, with ages ranging from 10-16 years old. The cost of tour for some families is just too much and as a club, we thrive to raise as much as we can to support every player, so they can experience a well organised tour and not miss out.

In April, we are hosting an auction, this is where we need help. 4 years ago we did a similar thing and had donations such as:

– Amazon vouchers
– Signed sporting memorabilia – England Cricket Bat, Johnny Wilkinson Shirt, Player Pictures
– Apple Ear pods
– Tickets for sporting events

If you have a budget for charity/social values and can help, these 79 young sporting athletes would welcome your support…
